More Boost Please 850R

MessageAuthor

Thinking of adjusting my actuator rod to the turbo. It's just that when i'm driving it on boost the needle only comes 1/2 way and i'm looking at the gauge thinking how nice it would be to see it at 3/4 instead. I don't want to spend too much money and i don't want any insurance assessors to see it following a bump. My boost does occasionally spike to 3/4 but always settles to just below 1/2, is this normal? I have a DV and all the small bore pipes have been changed and the other pipes look ok so i'm assuming the boost level is correct.

If I was you I would look at a remap if you want more out of your car, if you play with the actuator and get it wrong you may cause spikes which may damage the engine. Someone else may be able to confirm this...

I was thinking that it's 10 years old now and it must be worn or requiring some adjustment. I'll have a look at a replacement i think, don't want to break my baby!! Having said that, is it easy to adjust and would a small/tiny adjustment damage anything?
